Joshua Jackson has booked his return to television.
The beloved Dawson's Creek and Fringe star has joined the cast of The Affair, an upcoming drama on Showtime that chronicles a pair of marriages and the titular affair that affect them.
Look for Jackson to star as Cole, described by the network as a "hard-edged cowboy" who manages a range in Long Island and is married to Ruth Wilson's Allison.
The series also stars Dominic West as Noah, the man with whom Allison sleeps behind her husband's back; Maura Tierney as Noah's wife and the mother of his two kids.
The Affair will premiere in 2014 and is from writer/producer Sarah Treem (House of Cards, In Treatment).
