Television dates have a habit of going extremely well or extremely bad. It's all too rare for it to fall in the middle.
Some dates were so amazing that we were jealous just watching them, and others were so cringe-worthy that we couldn't stand the second-hand embarrassment.

As a result, our expectiations either became too high, or too low.
We created a slideshow below of 13 TV dates we wish we never attended!
1.
Eric and Donna's first date - That 70's Show
There's only one word that properly sums up this one: disastrous. Eric and Donna were both nervous about their first date, but Donna was able to let loose when she was accidentally served Long Island Iced Tea instead of regular Iced Tea.
2.
Cheryl and Toni's unofficial "Love, Simon" date - Riverdale
The inclusion of this movie on Riverdale was perfect as it helped Cheryl come to terms with who she is. We were just jealous that they got to see the movie before us!
3.
Doug and Carrie's vacation - King of Queens
Doug took Carrie to a wilderness resort that they had been to in the past, but as it turns out, she wasn't the girl he came with the first time. They ended up fighting the entire trip and went their separate ways in the wilderness. As you can see, Carrie fared a bit better than he did.
4.
Jane and Michael's recreated date - Jane the Virgin
Remember when Jane and Michael recreated one of their first dates and were the cutest couple on the planet? Maybe if we never would have seen moments like this, the later seasons of the show would hurt less.
5.
Tate and Violet's Halloween date - American Horror Story
Halloween is the only time each year that Tate is able to leave the house. It sounded like it would be a great night and a good opportunity for them to have some normalcy, but Tate and Violet were threatened by a group of ghosts that Tate had killed. Knowing that information changed our opinion of Tate completely, and we couldn't help but wish that everything that was said that night was a lie.
6.
Nick and Jess' first date that wasn't a date, and then was - New Girl
To start off, Nick asked Jess out by calling her his toilet sister. That's always the way to a girl's heart. We couldn't help but cringe every time Nick let his nerves take over and said things that probably weren't first-date appropriate. The number of tickets they received for jaywalking while trying to decide if they were on a date or not made us want to haul ass out of there.
7.
Tony and Angela's date in a "Tunnel of Love" - Who's the Boss?
Who wouldn't want an adorable awkward speech about how much someone loves you followed by a makeout in a swan boat? It may sound cheesy, but this kind of stuff only happens on TV. When's the last time someone confessed their feelings for you in a tunnel of love?
8.
Nic and Conrad's makeshift date - The Resident
Nic was currently at a rehab program to help her sister get clean, so Conrad brought their date to her. You might think there's nothing special about having dinner in the back of a car, but being in Conrad's presence alone is a blessing.
9.
Jake and Amy's honeymoon - Brooklyn Nine-Nine
The reason why we wish we never attended this date is that Jake and Amy deserve some serious alone time. Their honeymoon turned into a bit of a disaster when Holt ended up tagging along as their third wheel.
10.
Rachel's blind date - Friends
Phoebe purposely set Rachel up on the worst date in history to try and get her back together with Ross. Her date couldn't stop talking about what a lame and unsuccessful person he was, and we felt almost as uncomfortable as Rachel did.
11.
Barney and Ted's super date - How I Met Your Mother
Ted's idea was to wrap 17 dates all up into one night and create the most romantic evening ever. Barney ended up giving the date to Robin and her boyfriend as an apology, but now that the super date is out in the world it's hard not to long for it.
12.
Stefan and Elena's after hours date - The Vampire Diaries
Since none of us have significant others who are vampires, this one really set the bar too high. Stefan snuck Elena into the carnival after hours following a particularly tragic day. No one to run the Ferris Wheel? No problem. Stefan jumped up with Elena in his arms so they could kiss on the very top.
13.
Leslie, Ben, and Dave's date - Parks and Recreation
Ben and Dave are both standup guys, so you would think this whole evening would go smoothly right? Guess again. It just so happens that Dave is intent on winning Leslie back. Throw in the fact that he's a cop and Ben is absolutely terrified of police offers, and you'll wish you were watching anything but that awkward mess.
