We'd prefer not to quote a tabloid such as Star Magazine - but this Brothers & Sisters rumor is too juicy to pass up!

According to that gossip magazine, the former Melrose Place star - who was recently charged with DUI - has been lobbying the producers of the series, along with Sally Field, for a recurring guest role.

"Heather is a huge fan of the show but also believes that getting back to work will keep her clean and give her a new lease on life," a source said. "She's on her best behavior when she's on a show."

That may be true, but Locklear's personal life has been a sad mess over the last few months.

In June, the actress checked into rehab for four weeks to battle anxiety and depression. In September, she was arrested on suspicion of DUI and now faces up to six months in jail.
