Super Bowl Ratings: The Most-Watched Game Ever?

This just in: a lot of people tuned in to watch the Ravens defeats the 49ers last night.

According to preliminary Nielson ratings, CBS now owns the most-viewed telecast in football history, as an average overnight household rating/share of 48.1/71 is a one percent improvement over last year's Super Bowl, which totaled 111.3 million viewers in the end - the most-ever for a TV program.

As you might expect, the top market for the contest was in Baltimore, where nearly 60 percent of all televisions were focused on Ray Lewis' last ride, while host city New Orleans checked in at number-two.
