Maybe the random break was not a good idea for Scandal.

ABC: Grey's Anatomy (7.4 million/1.9 rating) and Scandal (5.4 million/1.4 rating) both slipped from their prior originals, with Scandal hitting a new low. The Catch (3.8 million/0.8 rating) returned in line with its Season 1 finale.

The CW: Supernatural (1.6 million/0.5 rating) hit a season low, while the recently renewed Riverdale (1.1 million/0.4 rating) held steady.

Fox: Masterchef (3.8 million/1.1 rating) was stable, while the debut of Kicking & Screaming (2.2 million/0.7 rating) came in lower than the most recent episode of My Kitchen Rules.

NBC: Powerless (2.5 million/0.8 rating) picked up a tenth out of an encore of Superstore (2.9 million/0.7 rating). Without The Voice as a lead-in, Chicago Med (6.4 million/1.2 rating) and The Blacklist: Redemption (3.8 million/0.8 rating) each took a hit.
