Chicago Fire, Chicago PD & Chicago Med: Renewed at NBC!

NBC is not ready to let go of three members of the Chicago franchise.

Chicago Fire Season 6, Chicago PD Season 5 and Chicago Med Season 3 have all been ordered at the network, but one series is ominously missing from the mass renewal announcement.

Yes, Chicago Justice's fate is still up in the air, and we are worried about it.

The series debuted earlier this year to 8.7 million viewers and a 1.8 rating among adults 18-49, but the numbers quickly dropped when the show made its way to NBC's revamped Sunday night schedule.

Chicago Justice Season 1 is averaging 6.1 million viewers and a 1.1 rating, which leaves it on the bubble at the network.

Chicago Fire and Chicago PD still rate well for the network and are currently the second and third-highest rated scripted series, only being out-rated by freshman sensation, This Is Us.

Chicago Med was on thinner ice because it dropped almost 30 percent in its move to Thursdays, averaging 6.6 million viewers and a 1.2 rating.

Still, it is currently the network's most viewed offering on Thursdays with The Blacklist and Superstore on the downside.

Probably concerning to NBC: Chicago Fire and Chicago PD have yet to be sold into syndication. That could be factoring into the decision whether to renew Chicago Justice.

NBC previously renewed The Good Place, Shades of Blue, This Is Us, Superstore, Blindspot and Taken for additional seasons.

Taken was the more surprising option, but NBC is said to have liked the pitch for Season 2 and even offered up an expanded 16-episode order.

Emerald City and Timeless were not so lucky, with both freshman series being given the pink slip over the past few days.

Neither series was expected to stick around after poor ratings.
