TV Ratings Report: All American Flops, Riverdale Returns Steady

All American debuted on The CW Wednesday night, and it is not the hit the network expected it to be.
With a 0.2 rating (0.7 million viewers), it really doesn't have any room to fall.
The CW notoriously doesn't base its decisions for renewals and cancellations on the live ratings, but this is not a positive start.
It launched a tenth lower than Dynasty did in the slot last October, and while that soapy drama has a sparkly Netflix deal that heavily subsidizes its production costs, All American does not.
What's more, All American held a paltry 40 percent of Riverdale Season 3 Episode 1's demo tally. Riverdale returned with a 0.5 rating (1.5 million viewers).
Riverdale launched three-tenths below last season's launch, but right on par with Riverdale Season 2's average.
Over on CBS, Survivor was steady with a 1.5 rating (7.2 million viewers), while SEAL Team (5.6 million viewers/0.9 rating), and Criminal Minds (4.6 million/0.8 rating) each gained a tenth.
NBC's One Chicago block, consisting of Chicago Med (8 million/1.3 rating), Chicago Fire (8.2 million/1.3 rating), and Chicago PD (7.1 million/1.2 rating) were all steady with last week's crossover numbers.
Fox's Empire (5.1 million/1.5 rating) was right on par with last week's result, while Star (4.3 million/1.3 rating) sang a little higher by building a tenth.
Over on ABC, The Goldbergs (5.1 million/1.3 rating), Modern Family (5.1 million/1.4 rating) and A Million Little Things (3.7 million/0.8 rating) all matched last week's numbers, but American Housewife (4.3 million/1.0 rating) and Single Parents (3.7 million/1.0 rating) each dropped a tenth.
