TV Ratings Report: The Red Line Has Weak Debut

CBS premiered The Red Line on Sunday night but the new drama failed to get much traction in the ratings. 

The two-hour premiere could only muster a 0.5 rating and 4.9 million total viewers.

The Eye network also pushed NCIS: Los Angeles to a later slot, and it went low. 

With 5.6 million total viewers and a 0.6 rating, it logged new series lows. 

Over on ABC, American idol spiked in both the demo and total viewers. 

The veteran reality series had 7.9 million total viewers and a 1.4 rating in the demo. Shark Tank followed with a steady 4.1 million total viewers and a 0.8 rating.

Over on The CW, Supergirl (1.1 million/0.3 rating) and Charmed (0.7 million/0.2 rating) were both up in viewers, but were steady in the demo. 

World of Dance perked up for NBC, hitting 3.4 million total viewers and a 0.8 rating. 

Freshly renewed Good Girls was similarly up, pulling in 2.4 million total viewers and a 0.6 rating.

Fox's rotation of The Simpsons (1.9 million/0.7 rating), Bob's Burgers (1.8 million/0.8 rating) and Family Guy (2 million/0.8 rating) were all steady.
