TV Ratings: The Resident, Empire, and The Conners Hit Lows

at .

It was a down night for the broadcast networks on this second Tuesday of the season, with most shows hitting or tying lows.

The Resident eased off a tenth on FOX, logging 3.8 million total viewers and a 0.7 rating -- new series lows.

A Risky Surgery - The Resident

Given that Fox is now an independent broadcaster, and relying more heavily on unscripted content, this does not bode well for the show's future.

Empire followed with 3 million total viewers and a 0.9 rating, down a tenth vs. last week's series low.

It's a good thing the series is ending, but the ratings are still okay given the declines the other networks have been faced with.

The Conners (5.5 million/1.1 rating), Bless This Mess (3.8 million/0.7 rating), mixed-ish (3.5 million/0.7 rating), black-ish (3.2 million/0.7 rating), and Emergence (3.6 million/0.6 rating) also came down this week.

The Voice (8.9 million/1.5 rating) was stable, while This Is Us (7.4 million/1.7 rating) and New Amsterdam (5.3 million/0.9 rating) each inched downwards.

NCIS was steady as a rock with 12.2 million viewers and a 1.3 rating, while FBI (9.4 million/1.0 rating) gained a tenth. NCIS: New Orleans (7 million/0.7 rating) was stable.
