Christine Chapel is a human medical officer serving aboard the USS Enterprise in the role of nurse to Dr. Joseph M'Benga.

She had served with M'Benga during the Klingon War and their trust in each other is a strong bond.

She has a very curious mind and has demonstrated incredible skill as both a scientist and clinician.
