The US Marshalls are at the church. They're meeting with Father Renaud about Teonna. But the Marshall seems to have some suspicions about how they are treating the girls, questioning the death of other girls. But, it was only a fleeting moment. He's ready to get a posse to go after her, taking Renaud along for the ride.

Teonna and her father are finally reuinited.

The Duttons ride into Boseman. They discover the hitching rail is no longer available to make room for the cars. Jacob notes that it's pretty clever that tires are bound by chains to give them traction.

At Banner's court proceeding, his attorney blames Jacob for Banner's actions, asking for a dismissal. The DA pushes back, and he's given time to find evidence to support the claims. But Banner is released without bond and immediately gets violent and mouthy.

Spencer and Alex are boarding the ship bound for the US. Her former fiance is boarding the same ship.

Teonna and Pete have a soft moment, and her dad says no google eyes or falling in love. Their focus should be on surviving. She grabs Pete's hand. They've been trying to kill her since they took her. She doesn't believe in later.

Pete wonders if her dad will beat him up. She supposes it's possible. Pete says he's had his fair share of beatings. What's one more?

When her dad goes to sleep, Teonna kisses Pete on the cheek, and they snuggle together. She sobs into his chest at the weight of it all.

Banner is screaming to Whitfield that he wants the entire Dutton clan dead. Whitfield wonders why he's concerned about that when he could have wealth instead. Banner thinks he's wealthy, but he's just momentarily rich, while Whitfield has generational wealth.

Whitfield says that emotion drives everything that Jacob does.

One of the whores comes downstairs. Her face is wrecked from tears. She says the other one is awake. Whitfield can't wait to get back into it.

For a fleeting second, Banner seems human again.

Lindy is beating the other gal again. Whitfield asks if she thinks he gets pleasure from the other one's pain. But he gets his pleasure from Lindy doing the beating. She doesn't see the pleasure in it. He says the pleasure is in the power.

Just as he talks Lindy into enjoying the power, he puts her on the bed. It's her turn. Christy is far more lethal than Lindy.

Back in town, Jacob meets with the bank, giving Zane the night off. One of Banner's goons watches Zane ride away.

Jacob needs hay over spring. He's paid off his loans, but the bank still doesn't want to loan to more cattlemen. The banker suggests he take out a mortgage on the Yellowstone. Jacob knows better.

Another banker is likely on Whitfield's payroll, as he dials the phone when Jacob leaves.

Zane has a wife and two children. His wife is quite intelligent, from the looks of things. Since we're seeing him in love and happy, he's likely going to die, and his family along with him.

When they take a shower together, their daughter wanders in asking why. They're saving money, mom says.

The goon is peering into the house as Zane and his wife make love.

Alex has motion sickness. She's bent over the rail when a friend screams her name. She tells Alex that her ex is destroyed, even as she says she loves Spender. The girl scowls that Spencer is a hunter and will leave her behind when the hunt is over, and Alex flashes her wedding band. The girl claims she's happy for Alex, but she's not.

Alex decides that tonight, they'll dine in the grand hall. She's got to get him a suit. Later, he needs help with his tie, and when she emerges all sparkly, he's taken aback.

After trading barbs about their reception being a consummation and having consummated so much the world is over it, he says her dress will look incredible draped over the chair.

When the enter the dining hall and dance, her ex is angry. His father says he managed to escape losing someone who didn't love him, so score! The girl who is obviously hoping to marry him asks him to dance, and he declines until his dad says to buck up.

The ex is problematic on the dance floor, dancing like a clumsy ox hoping to lure Spencer into a fight. Alex won't have it. The girl in her wanted to hide, but the woman in her has another thing in mind.

Arthur walks over and slaps Spencer across the face with the back of his gloves. He challenges Spencer to a duel that Spencer rightfully refuses -- until Arthur screams that Alex is a whore. Challenge accepted.

Oh my word. Arthur is the Earl of Sussex. He chooses swords, which Spencer has never even held in his hand. Spencer says if he's doing this on day one, imagine how he'll be on day. As it turns out, Arthur isn't that great of as swordsman, either. He gets embarrassed, and screams that he will not yield to the Yankee scum. When Arthur comes at him again, Spencer tosses him overboard. But the captain comes in, tossing Spencer in the brig. She begs her friend to tell the truth, and she does. Still, Alex is taken to her quarters, where she'll remain the rest of the trip.

Elizabeth has a miscarriage. She's so distraught. Having children is her one purpose on this planet. If she can't do it, what the hell is she here for? Jack counters her argument. His aunt didn't have children. Is she saying he has no purpose? Maybe it's

A crowd of men is banging on Zane's door. They're taking his wife. Alice is guilty of miscegenation, marrying a white man. Jacob runs out the door, where he's beaten while Alice is dragged away. Once they're gone, her family comes to his aid.

Cara finds Jacob hiding a towel outside. He can't feel his fingers and thought that if he squeezed the towel, it could work magic. If it weren't for Cara, Jacob says he'd kill himself, that's how much he hates his body betraying him and growing old.

Whitfield arrives at the Yellowstone, creating quite a ruckus. Cara wonders if he has no decency. We know he does not. Whitfield is there is speak down to Jacob about his way of life, living by the season instead of thinking about the future. He's there to taunt Jacob about the impending influx of tourists. They are the two largest landowners in the state. Jacob has no loan on his land, and Whitfield commends him. But Jacob is falling behind on his taxes, something he disagrees with. Somehow, Whitfield has paid his taxes, hoping that they'll default on his payment of such so the land reverts to them.

Renaud and the Marshalls find a dead body. Not sure whose it is at this point. Renaud wants to bury him because he's a child of God. The Marshall says that if it takes his prayers and digging a hole for God to welcome him into heaven, then there isn't such a place.

Next, they find the priests. The Marshall wonders if he's sure it's a girl. They probably went to the Commanche reservation. This group will take the train, so they'll be there when they arrive.

They're headig to Wyoming.

Alex is on the floor of her room when a steward comes in for Spencer's things. He says the man needs his things.

They're taking Spencer and his things to the Captain's quarters. When he gets there, Alex's friend is there, too. The captain says his defense plea has been accepted. They'll take him to port, but they won't allow Alex to go with him. Her friend, obviously distressed, runs to Alex's room. Alex sees Spencer's dingy out of the port hole. Jennifer gets Alex out, and Alex rushes topside as the dinghy is being dropped. She's screaming ove the edge. She wants to know where she will go. She will come to him. But he can't hear her. She sees the letters. She will meet him in Boseman, Montana!

Cara is giving up Spencer returning in enough time to save the ranch.
