When Stokes learns that a man he helped put in prison is going to have his conviction overturned due to the corrupt cop Sam Vega being the officer, he and the CSI team worked to prove the killer is guilty again.

While they couldn’t find enough evidence to keep him in jail for the murder, they were able to find enough evidence of an attack one year earlier to arrest him as he left jail.
