Recap

The second week of competition offered some surprising performances and plenty of hip-shaking. On Dancing with the Stars Season 19 Episode 3, the celebrities chose their favorite songs to dance to as part of the "My Jam Monday" theme.

Randy Couture's Cha-Cha to "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" was called under-whelming despite its entertainment value. And Lea Thompson rose to the top of the leader board with her fun, sharp jive to "The Land of 1000 Dances."

And Alfonso Riberio offered yet another crowd-pleasing performance-- this time, a Samba to "Gettin' Jiggy With It." Bethany Mota climbed on top of a bass despite a messed up ankle, and earned a 9 from Len for her Foxtrot.

Betsey Johnson redeemed herself from last week with an elegant Foxtrot, showing a total transformation from last week's premiere. We also saw an emotional moment when Betsey praised Tony as a mentor.

Tommy Chong wore neon pink and danced a surprising Salsa to "Higher." The judges were obviously impressed, with Bruno commenting that Tommy "proves that age is a state of mind."

Jonathan Bennett danced an entertaining Cha-Cha that failed to please the judges because of the lack of "content." Still, it was fun to watch-- that kid is truly happy to be on the show.

In addition to the dances, we saw behind-the-scenes footage of rehearsals that included moments of high-tension, emotion, and even some laughter.
