Recap

Season 1, Episode 6 starts things off crisp and clean with the introduction of Plastic Surgeon Dr. Vanessa Holmes.

The good doctor is in the midst of offering her protege, Dr. Astrid Olsen, a residency, to which the vivacious surgeon quickly but politely turns down the offer with news that she is starting a practice of her very own.

Through a series of TikTok ads and social media posts, it becomes clear that Dr. Olsen is the leading face in a younger, more "progressive" form of cosmetic surgery.

Her methods and message only draw the ire of the industry's older and more established surgeons, including Dr. Holmes.

Through a strategic day of timed appearances around the city, Vanessa covers her tracks as her plan to isolate Astrid unfolds.

In a plastic surgery recovery room, Dr. Holmes poses as a face-wrapped patient before Dr. Olsen discovers her true identity.

After a series of fatal jabs, Astrid's body is left to be discovered by staff.

With this being another high-profile murder, Elsbeth finds herself skin-deep in the case.

Though the Doctor made good work of any loose ends, Elsbeth's keen eye is able to find even the smallest details that link Dr. Holmes to the slaying.

"Red bottoms" take on a new meaning when the doctor's tailor-made footwear proves to be the linchpin in her arrest.

Between breaks in the case, Elsbeth's search into Captain Wagner's possible corruption furthers as Officer Kaya finds herself caught between the boss she holds in high regard and the friend with whom she has developed a close bond.

Elsbeth Season 1 Episode 6 Quotes

Elsbeth: You seem so calm. If my colleague was brutally murdered down the hall, I'd be choking down something glazed or powdered.
Dr. Holmes: Well, I suppose I have a very strong constitution. When you cut into people for a living, it's pretty gruesome. If I had a weak stomach, I don't think I'd get very far.

Ooh. Look, it's the Empire State Building. Oh, I can't believe it, I love it so much. Don't tell the Chrysler Building I said that.
