Todd Reynolds is beaten to death on the side of the road when his car stalls out. The team has no leads but his ten year old son Logan overheard a man fighting with Todd days earlier. Logan doesn't recognize the voice of the loan shark whom Todd had borrowed money but surprising recognizes the voice of the detective from Maine who has arrived to help on the case. It turns out that Detective Guthrie was bullied by Todd decades earlier while they were kids in summer camp. Even Guthrie's own step-father humiliated him at camp which is why Guthrie hunts him down to kill him but Jane and the team manage to stop him before he can do it.

Elsewhere, Maura is a victim of identity theft but romanticizes the women stealing her identity was a well bred imposter. She even takes Angela with her when she want to get a glimpse of the woman at a high end restaurant. Thankfully Angela takes a photo of the imposter and turns it over to Jane who later has the woman arrested before she can steal from somone else.
