Rizzoli & Isles Season 6 Episode 16 revolves around the murder of a Latvian mob member. The mobster is attempting to kill a young Latvian boy, Nicky, on an empty street but Nicky kills him first. Vince and Jane realize that there was a shootout and begin investigating.

The investigation reveals that both shooter and victim were from Latvia. The gang unit discovers that Nicky was a member of a street gang in Boston. His aunt, Katrina, is a local masseuse who has turned her life around after a bunch of prostitution busts fifteen years ago. She doesn't want to cooperate with the police.

In the course of the investigation, Jane spends a lot of time on a stakeout with Vince and realizes that she is going to really miss him if he retires. Meanwhile, Frankie meets a woman in an apartment building he is using to stake out an alley way and has to decide whether or not to pursue a relationship with her despite their differences. And Maura has a bad cold and a fever, which both Angela and Kent have unorthodox ways of dealing with.
