Nathan is going to lose his roommate. Carol and Nathan tour a nice apartment, but Nathan convinces his Mom that it's too expensive. They leave and walk next door. Nathan breaths a sigh of relief. Mom almost became his neighbor!

Carol and Nathan visit with Debbie and learn that Tom has been having regular overnight guests. His latest guest is from Shrugging Pines, a retirement home close to Debbie. Nathan encourages his Mom to visit, much to Debbie's displeasure.

Carol and the admissions director, Kip, hit it off and become fast friends. But unfortunately there is a long waiting list, so Carol has to keep searching. She mentions to Nathan that if he would have flirted with Kip, she probably would have been able to move in. Nathan goes back to flirt with Kip, but he's not interested. However, his ex, Leon, had a huge crush on Nathan and Kip wants to make him jealous. Nathan wants his Mom to move out, so they come up with the brilliant plan to pretend to date to make Leon jealous.

Leon isn't completely buying that Nathan and Kip are a couple so to sell the ruse (and to get Mom out of his house), Nathan gives Kip a huge kiss. But Kip is repulsed and Leon accuses him of being a sociopath. Before Leon can storm off with Pugsly, Carol convinces Kip to tell him off, which he proceeds to do ... in pig latin.

Carol thanks Nathan for all his efforts to get her into Shrugging Pines, although she utlimately decided against it. She and Kip are going to be roomies and neighbors to Nathan.
