Scott Turner and his partner Jessica are tasked with protecting a bank robbery witness.

Scott returns home to find his sister, Laura, who drops off their father’s dog, Hooch, and tells Scott to care for him. She also leaves him a letter from their dad, who has recently passed away.

Scott wakes up to find that Hooch has destroyed his apartment and decides not to keep the dog.

Scott learns that the safe house has been ambushed, and the witness has been abducted. He goes after the escaping criminals but loses their track.

He and Jessica are removed from the case, leading to some confusion. Scott, at his lowest point, reads his dad’s letter, which convinces him to take care of the god once and for all.

Scott noticed that Hooch was acting strange around Agent Long and realized he was a bad guy. 

Scott and Jessica tracked down Agent Long.

Scott is able to apprehend the criminals and bring back the witness, earning the respect of Chief Mendez. Mendez tells K-9 facility trainer Erica to train Scott and Hooch as a K-9 unit.

Laura calls Scott to say that there's more to their father's death than meets the eye, leaving us with a convincing hook for the second episode.
