Sterling K. Brown was born in St. Louis, Missouri. An avid actor since he was child, he went on to attend Stanford, where he earned a B.A. in drama, before going on to receive his Master's Degree in Fine Arts from NYU.
He has held a series of roles in regional theatre and appeared on a bunch of TV shows including ER, NYPD Blue, JAG, Boston Legal, Alias, Without A Trace, and Supernatural.
Sterling K. Brown was a regular in the comedy Starved. He has also appeared in movies like Stay with Ewan McGregor, Brown Sugar with Taye Diggs and Trust the Man with David Duchovny and Julianne Moore.
He was a popular recurring character on Supernatural, where he played the vampire hunter and tragic antihero Gordon Walker. In 2006 he appeared as a policeman in the film The Favor.
In June 2007, Sterling K. Brown married fellow actor Ryan Michelle Bathe. He currently plays Dr. Roland Burton on Army Wives.
