Quarry Preview: Death Isn't Complicated

If you're looking for a Banshee replacement, Quarry might be your thing.

The new Cinemax series is based on the novels by Max Allan Collins who also wrote Road to Perdition.

It has to be tough coming home from war to find you're not getting a hero's welcome.

It's not what Mac "Quarry" Conway expects when he returns home after serving in Vietnam.

Not only is he attacked by protesters outside the airport, he's having a hard time finding a job.

And his dad won't let him come visit.

When a man named The Broker shows up at his house uninvited, Mac doesn't overreact. He just listens.

Thirty grand is a sweet deal but what he has to do for it is something Mac is not ready to do.

If you're desperate, though, you might do anything, but Mac doesn't seem that desperate. Not yet, anyway.

He has his wife, Joni, who is his refuge and salvation. He has to think of her.

But, if he can't find a job, what is he going to do?

What's the difference between what he'd do for the Broker and what he did overseas?

Killing is killing, after all.

The Broker seems to have a nice little network of hired killers, so why does he need Mac?

Will Mac give in?

Things with Joni aren't as bright as he thought they were either.

All of it has a devastating effect on Mac who only wanted to come home and get on with his life.

Sometimes things just don't work out that way.

Quarry stars Logan Marshall-Green as Mac "Quarry" Conway, Jamie Hector as Arthur, Jodi Balfour as Joni Peter Mullan as The Broker, Damon Harriman as Buddy, and Nikki Amuka-Bird as Ruth.
