Leverage premiered on TNT last night, earning promising reviews from critics and viewers.
As for the motivation behind the Timothy Hutton-led series, executive producer Dean Devlin recently said he was aiming for a serial series that wasn't as dark and edgy as the CSI.
“I was looking to do a show for the whole family, but doesn't talk down to you,” Devlin said.
Hutton, who won an Oscar in 1980 for Best Supporting Role in Ordinary People, also chimed in on the show:
"Really good shows have a common denominator, whether it's Mad Men, The Wire or The Sopranos. The people who created and write them have clear ideas of what the shows are," Hutton said. "I hope people feel that way about Leverage and the revenge/justice aspect."
