First Look at CBS' Three Rivers

by at .

With its upcoming Three Rivers, CBS hopes to work its way into a medical genre that for years has been dominated by NBC (ER) and ABC (Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice).

Three Rivers goes inside the lives of organ donors, the recipients and the surgeons at the preeminent transplant hospital in the U.S. - in Pittsburgh, Pa., thus the name.

The series premieres in the fall of 2009.

As part of a new CBS roster that includes NCIS: Los Angeles, Three Rivers offers stories and characters whose unique, intertwined perspectives show how dealing with donor families and managing the fears and concerns of recipients takes more than a sharp scalpel.

Three Rivers stars Alex O'Loughlin and Julia Ormond.

Here's a three-minute preview of the show:

So sad this TV Series was cancelled before it had a chance. Someone should recast or something and give it another go, the series as a whole had great potential to gain more viewers and make being a organ donor vital, I'm not a donor, but watching this show, did show me the importance of donating, but if it can't be seen and promote transplantation, whats the point in becoming a donor.
