9:00 p.m. Drea de Matteo shows up on Desperate Housewives (ABC); the eighth season of Family Guy kicks off (Fox); Dexter has a son (Showtime).
10:00 p.m. Califorinication returns (Showtime); Betty gets involved in local politics on Mad Men (AMC).
