Ok I dont understand how you all do not understand the epic AMAZINGNESS of that finale. It ties everything that happened into a neat little bow. It was a great nostalgia trip with parts like Jack and Locke staring down into the cavern like the light from the hatch. And the ending... It's after they are all dead. It doesn't matter when the all died, when they met and became intertwined on the island they stay intertwined forever. The bonds they made carry on and the "Second" life was just a limbo they were in before they could all see the ones they loved and realised that they had already lived and were happy and then they were ready to enter the afterlife. I am not a religious person at all but i still absolutely loved the ending. And Jacks eyes closing with the dog next to him. Priceless. It was just like how the show started, and it closed full circle. I was balling my eyes out at the end because of that. That finale makes the last six years completely worth it.

some of these comments are missing the point. who cares about more dharma info, they did tests and it just another cool interesting part of the show, same with extra characters nobody cared about we found out as much about them and dharma as the main characters did so i am cool with that. If everything was answered it would be pretty dull and lame, like the whispers explanation. all great shows leave a little to think about. Christian is alive like the rest of them in the sideways afterlife too, and the island was real life or thats how i am taking it. Try using a little imagination.

To all you who don't get it: I feel sorry for you, because apparently you've never loved anyone, set foot in a church before, had someone love you, or believed in God, or some higher being greater than yourself. THAT'S WHAT LOST WAS ABOUT!! Our time here on Earth is just a brief moment; we should live our lives and love one another, because there's something greater when we're gone. At least that's what I believe.

I'm mad they didn't answer some of the questions from past seasons, but I knew going into the finale that there wouldn't be any more answers to the more minor questions and I accepted that (although with a little difficulty). I agree that some people died off the island and some people on; the scene in the church was just after all of those people had died. It seems like the "alternate reality" of 815 landing at LAX was purgatory, not the island, because people can and did die on the island. Now I guess Hurley wasn't made immortal because the "light" was off at the time of Jack "now you're like me"-ing him, and so I guess he could die. The only question I'm left with is if Richard, Miles, Daniel Faraday, and Charlotte weret in the church. If they were I missed it.

Gone in peace where exactly......? since when were they all dead.... Have they been dead all along? Whose was Jacob, more importantly who was his brother? What was the Dharma initiative? What did Whitmore and his wife know? Why did they send Desmond back..........??? On a sentimental perspective I thought the pairings at the end were spot on - the moment Sawyer and Juliet got together it really paved the way for the inevitable Jack/Kate reunion - I am glad it ended up that way if nothing else - overall though very underwhelmed !!!

at first i was like omg they are all going to christians funeral with jack becuase that was his sole purpose of going to sydney in the firt place...but then that they all meet up and go on to the afterlife together so kick ass even tho expected since season1....the ending of the show with jack closing his eyes and it coming full circle soooo moving....we for the past 6 years were on a rainbow ride and it ended with us as viewers hitting the pot of gold with such an awesome ending....................had me in tears

  7. will

i agree probably oneof the worst endings ive ever had the dispeasure to watch. i will avoid any thing by these writers for a long time

  8. Wa Li ha

OK - Jordan - maybe you don't have a brain by allowing writers to get away with S**T like that . Try TV Land and gilligans island.

  9. wmbam

What was the island?? what was the light? where did the light come from?? who was the lady that killed the mom and took jacob and brother??? Where did the Darma corp come from and how did they get to the island?? what happened to the other people on the island from the crash, did they all die or what?? I guess they all died on the air plane leaving the island at the end but if they did why where they already in the land of the dead???? anybody got any answers???

for me just fantastic ending. I am disappointed it is over. Unlike some, with Lost I expected no answers just an open ended finale. I am going to watch the other three endings too.

  11. useyourbrain

ok, this is what just happened. everything that u saw on the island was real. the scenes in the flash sideways was purgatory. it is were they all meet up after the had died. jack died on the island like we say, some of the others died later. just use your brain to figure it out. It is a little disappointing that they couldnt answer more questions. also, if you want to know what the island is just watch the scene when jacob is taking to richard with the wine bottle, he clearly explains it.

  12. Jay

The island wasn't purgatory, everything that happened there was real. They really did save the world.

The flash-sideways world was purgatory. In the end, all of them ended up dead (like everyone), and had to "find" each other in purgatory to get to heaven (the church).

Religious, but not biased towards any one religion. All believe in an afterlife and they all wound up there. Overall, very good. Only question I have is what happened to Walt and Michael??

  13. WTF

    ummm ya.....

I don't get what the fuck just happened. I can't comment right now. I think I need to watch Lost over again to see if this finale makes any sense what so ever.....

But for right now, that made no sense what so ever. And I'm stunned.....

Probably, one of the worst endings/Cop-Outs I've seen in a long time.

  14. I never watched this show

Hi. I never watched this show, except for a half episode in 2006. I saw about 3/4ths of the finale. I thought it was OK. However, maybe I only liked it because I was eating some tasty pizza at the same time, and it is just an association thing.

    Do you guys agree?

  15. PredictedInFirstYear

This is the story everyone said it was in year one. The only "smoke" in this series was the story itself.

  16. nan

just what i thought that they were dead and in some sort of limbo. they interacted with each other and "lived" a life or lives they lost when their real life was done. they went to whatever type of heaven they believed in by looking at the religious symbols in the church.

  17. hugo

thought it was great. the island wasn't purgatory the sideways world was, which is just interesting. they are moving on to the afterlife, and Ben had done too much to be ready to go. Love that hurley was the new jacob, and that they leave it open to how long he did it since there is no time in purgatory. LOST the next gen with hurley!!

  18. jordan

ok seriously some of you don't have a brain they "left" to the next life/heaven. Frank and everyone else on the plane escaped they just died long after jack like christian said. Does that clear it up?

  19. melanie

Yes just like Christian said some died off and some died on so the sideways world was their in between they had to find eachother in the in between to move on this has to be it and I think that just because Christian said some died on and off if he didnt say that I would think they were all dead from the crash. I think the island world really did happen and wasnt purgatory.

  20. Morti

Seriously, why the 6th season? It'd been so much better if they'd just finished it with the bomb going off, the plane landing safely in LAX and the island under the water. In a word, what we saw at the end of last season + first episode of this one. Bull****

  21. Adam

Worst Finale EVER, they left so many questions un-answered, like wtf, BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

THEY ENDED THE SHOW TOO QUICK, they coulda got another two episodes or so out of it, WHOEVER CAME UP WITH THAT ENDING SHOULD BE SHOT.

  22. danielle

christian is not alive. none of them are. it is purgatory. it is the struggle of good and evil between those who perished on the flight. very good ending. now they can go in peace.

  23. anti hero

    This was the WORST.EVER!!!

    I am disappointed as HELL!!!

Who is the couple that started dharma?
    What is the island?
Where did the statute come from?
    Where did Dogan come from?
    Where did Jacob meet Ilyana?

    Where did they 'leave' to?
    HOW!!! is Christian 'alive'?

    Fuck the writers. Fuck THEM!!!

  24. War Li hA

If they are all dead then was the past years all of them just in perguatory? what was kate and sawyer, etc flying away on the plane if they are dead? Am I dumb?

  25. Rich Conner

    WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED!?!?!?
