Rookie Blue Series Premiere: What Did You Think?

by at .

Hyped by critics and ABC as "Grey's Anatomy in a police station," Rookie Blue debuted tonight.

Did it meet your expections? Have you already set a DVR series recording for it, or do you never wanna see Missy Peregrym ever again?

We'll published a detailed recap and review first thing Friday morning, but are asking readers for their immediate feedback first: WHAT DID YOU THINK?

Personally, i look forward to friday nights just to watch Rookie Blue!..it's entertaining, a GREAT show, love the characters, each with his/her unique quirks and problems, no racism involved, and i particularly like McNally and Sam together ... hope you bring them together again for season 4........(not watching it anymore if you don't!!!!!!!)...CONGRATULATIONS to the cast and writers...

wow, omfg Rookie Blue has managed to pull out all the stereotypes for this series. I mean, u have your angry black man (cop) in the pilot episode, your angry black woman in the second episode (the partner to the gal officer with the short blond hair),and of course u have your black single mom whose also promiscuous/"slutty" (traci nash)... And the Oscar for the most stupid and rampant stereotypes in a drama series goes to .. Rookie Bluuee! Here to accept this award are the crapy, inacurrate writers of this drama! (Oh & not to mention that the way the cops are portrayed is just unrealistic). This is the kind of show that leaves you with a sense that your intelligence has just been insulted.

Cali, of July 2nd, 2010 1:33 AM You hit this on the head... My exact feeling, and I would add more if I had more time. Black trash talking Racist about picture being taken with white cop. etc etc

Is this supposed to be a spoof? No? Well then, I'm REALLY confused. I've never met a female cop who looks and acts like a sorority chick. I'm waiting for Charlotte to reapply her lovely cherry red lipstick before she arrives on the crime scene, and for Missy to giggle hysterically and exclaim "OMG. This is soooo gross" Ever see NYPD Blue? Get rid of the rookies and bring back the old boys and girls!

I think you guys are being too hard on this show. Clearly most of you can't handle the fact that something other than a hospital show has premiered on tv. I thought the writting in the show was just fine, and no, it didn't not look like it was a teenager who wrote it. So what if they got a few facts wrong? EVERY SHOW DOES, I PROMISE YOU, and if you really think that everything is so flawless then you need to wake up. Rookie Blue is the first cop show that I've seen in a long time that can balance out the charaters personal life and work life without making them look like some perfect barbie. And to those of you that think that there are too many stereotypes on black people then that is exactly what you are looking for which is why you can find it. Try to look past that, pull your head out of your butt and you'll see that Rookie Blue is alot better than you are giving it credit for.

I like the show, but I definitely agree that this show is kind of an insult to the US police force. I hope it does get better. Anyhow, lets wait for the next episode.

This show is an embarrassment to the police. While i am pleased that Toronto Police is the "driving" force behind this serious, it portrays the force as a pretty boy/ girl club. I live in Toronto and interact with Toronto Police on a regular basis in my job and the officers are not pleased. If this show is to succeed, the writers need to stop "hollywooding" this profession.

Also while i agree with most of the points of Jay W., it is a Canadian production so research of US police is not appropriate. However, the show's writers should have researched Canadian (Toronto) police force because it is apparent they did not bother. Only true accuracies are the uniforms and cars.

To the comments that refer to criticism as "haters". Not a hater, would just like a little more realism. there is nothing wrong with that. There is enough fluff on TV!

This show was dreadful. I'm not asking for absolute realism, but this was what I would expect of a cop show as written by a 12 year old girl. Im betting this doesn't make it through the season. Sorry to be a naysayer.
