Looks like ABC's summer season is't a complete bust.
Despite the lackluster ratings for Scoundrels and The Gates, Rookie Blue has averaged approximately seven million viewers/week, enough to earn the show a second season. ABC made the announcement today.
"We're very pleased that the show has connected with viewers, especially considering the challenge of finding an audience in the summer, and we are excited to pick it up for a second season," said Quinn Taylor, head of movies, miniseries and acquisitions for the network.
