It's only aired three episodes, but this is what happens when you set a ratings record: TNT has renewed Falling Skies for a second season.

Falling Skies is a true standout series, from its ambitious storytelling, high-profile cast and production team to its phenomenal success when it comes to international and time-shifted viewing,” said Michael Wright, executive vice president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies. “We’re reaching new audiences with Falling Skies and look forward to seeing where this fascinating and exciting series takes us next.”

The 10-episode second season will kick off next summer.

But a new installment airs this Sunday, and we encourage readers to visit TV Fanatic as soon as it concludes for a complete wrap-up and review!

I'm glad it was here that they renewed the show for next season, that's why I like TNT, the networks don't give syfy shows a chance.

I agree. It's moving too slow. I appreciate getting to know the characters, but it took waaayy to long for them to get out there and rescue Ben. Also, why are they with a bunch of civilians? they should train and arm EVERYONE!!!

Please tell the writers to revamp the show's format before they lose all their viewers. This has turned into a snoozer. How many errands are these people going to run? And will they always be leaving aliens unattended so they can escape/recapture harnessed kids? Come on, Spielberg! You can do so much better!
