Stop what you are doing and listen up: Melanie Amaro could be the first-ever winner of The X Factor.

Granted, it's early. Really, really early. But the 18-year old belted out a version of Beyonce's "Listen" last night that made Nicole Scherzinger cry and say: "This is why I do this, people like you inspire me."

Simon Cowell's praise wasn't less effusive, as the man responsible for the new version of this show told Amaro and viewers: "When I was asked by people why I was bringing this show to America it was because I hoped we were going to find someone like you."
