Fox Programming Notes: More Alcatraz, Less House

at . Comments

In a move that bodes well for Alcatraz, but less well for House's chances of landing on the Fox schedule again this fall, the network has revamped its March lineup.

Hugh Laurie and company have been removed entirely next month in order to make room for one week of twice the Alcatraz; and two weeks of an Alcatraz/Touch pairing, as Fox likely wants to see how these two rate together before making any decisions for 2012-2013.

Here is a look at the new schedule:

Monday, March 5
8:00/7:00c - Alcatraz (Back-to-Back Episodes)

Monday, March 12
8:00/7:00c - Alcatraz (New Time Period)
9:00/8:00c - Touch (Encore of Pilot)

Monday, March 19
8:00/7:00c - Alcatraz
9:00/8:00c - Touch (Season Premiere)

Monday, March 26
8:00/7:00c - Alcatraz (Season Finale)
9:00/8:00c - Touch

Mondays (as of April 2)
8:00/7:00c - House
9:00/8:00c - Touch

Oh please not another Prison-break story! And this one looks like it will involve flashbacks à la Lost - because that didn't turn out to be a waste of time at all did it? House's writers just need to focus on that one show and stop thinking they can phone it in because they know the ''formula'' and it will be good for another few years.
I'm tired of good shows getting replaced by whatever's new all the time. Testing runs used to be in late spring or summer, but now everyone goes on break every other week to give these new programs a shot in time-slots that are made popular by the shows they're interrupting. It's gotten to the point where you never know what's on when.No wonder people watch shows online now. They don't want to deal with this nonsense.

This is good news, really tiring of "House", and really liked the pilot ep of "Touch". I'm DVRing "Alcatraz" 'cause I don't want to invest time in it if it's cancelled after its rookie season.
