Television fans are clearly excited about returning to Dallas.

The TNT remake/revamp/reboot averaged 6.9 million viewers across its two-hour premiere last night, making it the most-watched scripted series debut on cable in 2012.

Compared to the previous two summers...

• The Falling Skies opener earned the top spot last year, drawing 5.9 million total viewers.
• In 2010, Rizzoli & Isles ranked first with 7.6 million total viewers.
