Olivia Dunham

Olivia Dunham is the main lead, she was the hero, chosen one.
Jackosn announced that 512 was to be exclusely Olivia, what I saw was regular screentime for a main lead character.
This is how low Wyman has sunk, 1 episode of Olivia getting lines and getting a role, is being called Olivia heavy.
Anna Torv got a bone by getting a bit AltLivia, I read they even cut scenes of AltLivia and Licoln and Olivia scenes,
all to make room for even more Walter and Peter scenes, and more men whining and crying scenes.
Season 5 was Wyman doing everything to erase Olivias and Anna Torvs importance to Fringe, and to give all the credit to his boys Jackson and Noble.

Heavy on plot dragging and light on making sense. Disappointing.

The thing I don't get about the whole resetting of time -- if sending Michael into the future caused the Observers to never be developed the way they did, then the 12 observers would not have been sent back to observe prior to the invasion. That means September wouldn't be there to save Peter and Walter from the lake. No Peter or Walter, so no dandelion scene in the park. What am I missing?

since Walter did not die, and movies are possible, Peter will see him again. Cheesy as it was, and dopey in parts (seeing Liberty Island from the waterfront meant they knew there were no Observers there? Puhleeeze)............. still, it was the dandelion field for my beloved Polivia, and that is what Walter would have wanted.
We need to make the movie happen so they can be reunited.

I wonder if Fringe had been renewed sooner last season if they would have gone down this story line. If the writers had of been forced try to write the last season finale as a possible series finale; if this wouldn't have been an entirely different story. One where Olivia would not have been pregnant with Etta yet, and they hadn't shut down the bridge to over there so soon. I've enjoyed this season and the series; but I think I would have enjoyed season five more if they hadn't of been backed into that corner.

Tim - the tape was created before Walter disapeared. Walter existed up till 2015.
What happens after the final scene is essentially what Walter describes in the video (which Peter would be going to watch).

I thought it was the most fulfilling series finale I've seen since ST:TNG. I don't think I'm ready to read reviews that dissect it's flaws (and, really, how many things are flawless?). The only reason not to like this finale is that it is the end of 100 great hours of TV! To me, this entire season seems like great back-story before a fantastic 2 hour movie. Viewing the entire show as a whole and not the sum of it's parts makes me think that "Fringe" will have a long life on DVD/BlueRay/Netflix/Wet-wired Brain Stream (o.k., that last platform might not be available for a few years, but that's my point). TV shows today need to be made with the understanding that not everybody is going to watch at the same time. "Fringe" will live on.

I don't think it's stupid at all. People get emotionally attached to television characters. And the fact that people do get emotionally attached is a testament to the writing ability of the show's writing staff.
I was a huge fan of Stargate Universe. The cast did not know that the show was going to be cancelled that year until more than halfway through the second season. They did a pretty good job of sewing it up but there were a lot of questions left unanswered and we don't know if they ever got home or not.
So no...I think calling someone stupid over something like this is a bit harsh. If every TV series ended with loose ends, I'm guessing you might gripe too about no "closure". It's just a part of the Human Need.

One of the things that confused me was Walter's video tape telling his son that he had just disappeared and why... Wouldn't Walter realize that if all worked out, the tape would never be seen?
Great show, will miss it!

please stop talking about how much you needed closure. it's a tv show, somebody didn't die. to grade an episode based on whether you got closure or not seems stupid
