TV Ratings Report: Vampire Diaries Returns Strong, American Idol Remains Flat

 

Night two of the American Idol premiere dropped by nine percent in its overall viewership last night compared to its Wednesday opener, while The Vampire Diaries returned to a slight uptick in both total households and the key 18-49-year old demographic.

American Idol: 16.2 million viewers
The Vampire Diaries: 2.9 million
The Big Bang Theory rerun: 11.9 million/Two and a Half Men rerun: 9.1 million
Last Resort: 5 million

9 p.m.
Grey's Anatomy: 8.6 million
The Office: 4.1 million/1600 Penn: 3 million
Person of Interest rerun: 9.3 million
The Carrie Diaries rerun: 1.1 million

10 p.m.
Scandal: 8 million
Elementary rerun: 7 million
Rock Center with Brian Williams: 4.3 million
