The Bachelor Season Finale: Who Won?!

at .

The 17th winner of ABC's reality hit The Bachelor was revealed at last Monday night.

There were tears, of joy and of pain. There was turmoil. There were tough talks with family. There were elephants. There was a much-hyped letter that promised to (maybe be a game changer).

Most of all, there was a choice between Catherine Giudici and Lindsay Yenter.

So who did Sean Lowe pick in the end, and did he propose? Did she even accept? What is his status as of right now? And who will be The Bachelorette? Scroll down for answers to all of the above ...

Bachelor Season 17 Final 2

Catherine Giudici took home the last rose - and a ring - on The Bachelor season finale!

He proposed. She said yes. In the end, despite all the buzz over the letter shown in the previews, it was pretty much nothing. A sweet love letter from Catherine, sure. But not any sort of big twist.

Lindsay Yenter arrived first to the final rose ceremony, where she got the boot. Sean Lowe was pretty sad about it, too. He then gave his final rose to Catherine and mostly got over it of course.

If you read The Bachelor spoilers at all this season, none of this was a real surprise.

On the After the Final Rose special, we were given an update on Sean and Catherine, who are still very much together and engaged, and getting married on ABC at some point. Date TBA.

Also in the third hour, Lindsay Yenter confronted Sean one-on-one for the first time since the final ceremony, followed by Catherine, who reunited with her man and gushed about him a lot.

Finally, Desiree Hartsock was announced as the next Bachelorette.

What do you think? Did Sean make the right decision last night, or were you pulling for Lindsay? Will he and Catherine actually make it to the altar? And will Des make a good Bachelorette?

The Bachelor Quotes

I would definitely prefer not to be the first Bachelor rejected at the end of all of this.

This is not another season of The Bachelorette. Or Paradise. This is actually The Bachelor. I know, I’m as surprised as you are.
