TV Ratings Report: Agents of SHIELD Slips

by at . Comments

Not even a surprise cameo by Samuel L. Jackson could save Agents of SHIELD this week.

The new ABC series garnered 8.4 million viewers and a 3.1 18-49-year old rating last night, a decrease of 31 and 34 percent, respectively, from its series premiere. Such low figured bled into a low night overall for ABC, as recounted below in our full ratings rundown. (NOTE to Lucky 7 viewers: don't get too invested in this series.)

It was silly to think they could hold the premiere numbers anyway. They have this show up against NCIS who has consistently beat the competition for YEARS. AND it was the goodbye to Ziva episode. They didn't have a chance that night!

The whole point of the show is too get people ready for the next team up movie anyways so it maybe has 1 or 2 season. It really should be on Saturday with the other comic book shows

To be fair they put it up against the Voice, AND NCIS. These are 2 huge network juggernauts. Putting a brand new show, Marvel or not, up against these to is risky. 8.4 is still a REALLY good number. Next season (tv not show) it will probably get moved to Mondays or Wednesdays something with less competition.

I cannot wait for Episode 3! This episode was great!

I think one must take into consideration, that NCIS dealt with Ziva's exit last night, so I am sure many people chose to tune into that instead of Agents of SHIELD. I DVRed the episode due to having class at night.

Consider canceling Dads

I watched this show later in the week On Demand and was surprised by the clever dialogue. I found it rather charming. I would never choose it over NCIS but I hope it isn't cancelled so I can watch it as a back up.
