Manhattan Trailer: The First Nuclear Family

at . Comments

In the 1940s, the world's highest concentration of geniuses was found in a small town in New Mexico, but it wasn't found on any map.

"The Hill" was a middle-class suburb in the dusty desert outside of Los Alamos, New Mexico filled with brilliant scientists and their families as the scientists set to work on the Manhattan Project -- the creation of the atomic bomb.

Manhattan, a new series from WGN America, stars John Benjamin Hickey (The Good Wife) and Olivia Williams as one of the married couples dealing with the deception and intrigue that come as the scientists try to navigate a political minefield... while keeping the true nature of their work away from their friends and family.

Manhattan premieres on Sunday, July 27. Take a look at the trailer and let us know what you think!

So far I am enjoying this show. It covers a lot of the paranoia surrounding the Manhattan Project and the people involved. It also shows that at times the military can cause havoc in a program it is meant to protect, by keeping scientists from sharing information that could lead to a vital breakthrough. Hopefully this lesson has been learned and rectified, but somehow I doubt that it has.
