ABC President Teases Frozen-Themed Once Upon a Time Spinoff

If at first you don't succeed, try again.

With one of the highest-grossing movies in the history of the universe.

At the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour today, ABC President Paul Lee said he was open to yet another Once Upon a Time spinoff, despite the complete failure of Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.

Acknowedging that he made a mistake by not programming the latter series during the original's winter hiatus, Lee said he couldn't rule out the possibility of creating a new drama based on the Frozen character who will debut on Once Upon a Time Season 4.

“We don't have immediate plans for a Frozen spinoff, but they're so inventive, those two…" Lee said of OUAT executive producers Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis.

Added Lee:

"Eddy and Adam are endlessly inventive, so they have glints in their eyes of stories that they can spin for years to come. So it certainly doesn't rule out their ability or my ability to go beyond Once."

Georgina Haig is on board as Elsa this fall, while Scott Michael Foster will play Olaf and Elizabeth Lail will portray Anna.

Do you want to see ABC use Frozen as the basis for a spinoff? Sound off now and prepare for Once Upon a Time to return on Sunday, September 28.

While completely in love with OUAT, I could not care less about a Frozen spinoff, did not see the movie, listen to the music or play into the hype, sorry Disney, but no go, I will watch to see how it plays out on OUAT only.

I LOVED ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND! I stayed loyal to the original and watched the spin off. Just with it didn't end so soon.

I really loved Frozen, but even a great thing can become overrated, and that is exactly what it's coming to. I would watch a spinoff (or at least give it a try), but only because I enjoyed OUaT and the Wonder Land spinoff. It would not be because Frozen is worth it, or that I particularly support the idea. I'd just rather it not happen. Too much hype can kill something great, and I have a feeling that is what will happen here. Do something with more of a classic nostalgic feel, which is what pulled me into OUaT originally. A place like Oz, for example. At least then there is some meat to it. Frozen is just a one-shot, albeit great, story with a vague yet appealing background. It just wouldn't be as satisfying.

I love that people get their panties in a bunch over Frozen. To the people talking about ABC just going after money, WELL DUH! If ABC does not get money they drop the show. There are PLENTY of people that would love to see Elsa and Anna, myself included. I look forward to Pocahontas or maybe characters from Atlantis. I am very excited about Frozen coming to OUAT. You can complain all you want, but it is happening either way.

Mary Margaret: Because after true love there is no more powerful magic than footwear. It has to be protected.
