Emmy Award Nominations: Who Got Snubbed?

by at . Comments

Pity those poor Emmy voters, folks.

They apparently don't get BBC America or FX in their homes.

How else to interpret some of the 2014 Emmy nominations, which were announced this morning and which somehow do NOT include Tatiana Maslany, Keri Russell or Matthew Rhys.

As always, outrage over those snubbed by the Academy is far outweighing excitement over those who did receive nods, but here's the thing: for someone or some show to be truly snubbed, you need to point out the show or star it should replace.

Otherwise... we'll just be complaining about that other show or star being snubbed.

We've tried to do that in the following gallery, running down not just the snub, but the nomination that took its more deserving place. Agree? Disagree? Sound off below!

The Good Wife
Perhaps the single biggest mystery of all nominations: How did Downton Abbey earn a Best Drama nod over The Good Wife? Should broadcast networks even bother submitting shows any more?

The biggest snubs of the year once again go to the Shameless cast. The fact that one of the best and most consistent performers on tv in Emmy Rossum hasn't gotten a nod for any of the work she's done is a complete travesty which I honestly believe is the unfortunate path Tatiana Maslany is going to go down and shows how ridiculous the emmy awards truly have become. Furthermore; Jeremy Allen White not receiving a supporting actor nomination when he delivered the most balanced and heart wrenching performance on tv this year by a mile is ludicrousness. The show not being nominated is completely nuts as well but I guess that's just the emmys for you. Absolutely ridiculous snubs this year that's for sure.

Hannibal's actors being snubbed is one thing - that lead actor category is a tough one. But not getting a nod for either art direction or cinematography is just ridiculous. Homeland and House of Cards don't hold a candle to Hannibal in that department. And Arrow not getting a stunt coordination nomination - over Hawaii Five-O, Revolution and the Blacklist? Honestly.
