Designated Survivor: 7 Reasons We're Glad President Kirkman is Back in the White House

at .

It seems like forever since we last saw President Kirkman and his team. Has it really been since December?!

When we left them, Jason had falsely confessed to killing Majid Nassar, Hannah was almost killed, and shots rang out as Peter MacLeish was about to take his Vice Presidential oath

It can't be easy being President, especially with the weight of the world on your shoulders, but we have full confidence President Kirkman will get the job done. After all, he's the best President on TV right now.

It's been a crazy winter and we're glad he's finally back. Check out why below.

1. He's One of Us

Tom Kirkman was a normal, down-to-earth guy before he became President.

Although he's now the most powerful man on the planet, his new position hasn't changed him. He's still the approachable guy he was before.

Thank you, Mr. President, for not letting your ego get the best of you.

2. He's Reasonable

Face Off - Designated Survivor Season 1 Episode 4

Kirkman isn't afraid to stand up for himself and for what he believes.

He's faced off against Congresswoman Hookstraten and even a powerful member of the military, General Cochrane.

Yet, he doesn't let his anger get the best of him. He isn't about to burn bridges or make baseless accusations.

He's just trying to do the best job he can under the circumstances.

3. He's All About Unification

The country just suffered one of the most horrific attacks of terrorism in its history.

Although it would be easy for him to ban people left and right, he knows that's not how to solve the problem.

He knows unification – not separation – is the only way to heal the country.

4. He Thinks Before He Acts

Designated Survivor - Thinking

Even though it's frustrating to watch at times, President Kirkman weighs everything before he takes action.

His responsibility is great and he takes his job very seriously which is why he thinks before he acts.

And as far as we know, he doesn't take to Twitter to vent aimlessly.

5. Seth Wright is His Press Secretary

Press Advisor of Dreams - Designated Survivor

Seth is cool, calm and collected. Enough said.

6. His Staff Is Loyal

Designated Survivor - Emily

If there's one person President Kirkman can be sure has his back, it's Emily.

Emily is one of his most trusted advisors and has been with him since the beginning.

She has an ultimate respect for him and his office, and she tends to keep her feet on the floor.

7. His Family Means Everything

Designated Survivor - Family

There's something to be said about a First Family that isn't afraid to show their love and respect for each other in public.

No matter the event, you can always tell there is a special bond between Tom and Alex. And we love them for it.
