at .

Empire returned from a lengthy hiatus, but did it manage to recover after bleeding during the fall?

Fox: Shots Fired (4.7 million/1.1 rating) debuted considerably below Lethal Weapons debut, while Empire (7.9 million/2.8 rating) returned up a little.

NBC: Blindspot (4.3 million/0.9 rating) stopped dropping and gained one-tenth, while Law & Order: SVU (5 million/1.1 rating) and Chicago PD (6.3 million/1.2 rating) dipped.

CBS: Survivor (7.9 million/1.7 rating) and Criminal Minds (7.4 million/1.3 rating) were stable, while Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders (4.8 million/0.8 rating) slipped.

The CW: Arrow (1.4 million/0.5 rating) and The 100 (0.9 million/0.3 rating) hit new lows in total viewers.

ABC: It was encores of The Goldbergs (4.5 million/1.0 rating), Speechless (3.8 million/1.0 rating), Modern Family (3.9 million/1.1 rating) and Black-ish (3.1 million/0.8 rating), followed by Designated Survivor (5.2 million/1.1 rating).

The dip for Designated Survivor can be attributed to the slew of encores airing before it.
