TV Ratings Report: Did Dancing with the Stars Stop Bleeding?

at .

Dancing with the Stars returned with a new group of celebrities duking it out for the coveted Mirrorball Trophy, but did the latest crop of celebrities send the show higher?

Unfortunately, the show was down from both cycles from the 2016-2017 season. The two-hour season premiere secured 10.8 million viewers and a 1.7 rating among adults 18-49.

That was enough to top the night, but there's a good chance it could slide next week when other shows premiere. To Tell The Truth closed out ABC's night with 5.2 million viewers and a 0.9 rating.

Over on NBC, American Ninja Warrior concluded with 5.9 million viewers and a 1.5 rating. Midnight, Texas came to an end with 2.8 million viewers and a 0.8 rating.

NBC has been quiet about the show's future, but it should very much be in the mix for another season. The ratings have never been high, but it has been a reliable performer.

Finally, So You Think You Can Dance managed 2.2 million viewers and a 0.6 rating.
