TV Ratings Report: This Is Us Hits Series High

at .

This Is Us returned for Season 2 last night, and it's clear fans were eager to find out what happened to the Pearson family in the aftermath of the emotional This Is Us Season 1 finale.

The episode managed 12.6 million viewers and a 3.8 rating among adults 18-49. This is a new record in the demo, but just shy of a record total viewer tally.

Law & Order: True Crime debuted afterward with 6.2 million viewers and a 1.7 rating. This is a disappointing result considering the huge lead-in, but will it stabilize here?

Before those two shows, The Voice interested 10.6 million viewers and had a 2.6 rating.

Over on ABC, Celebrity Family Feud had middling ratings with 6 million viewers and a 1.3 rating, while Dancing with the Stars hit a new series low. It had 7.1 million viewers and a 1.2 rating.

NCIS returned with 13.1 million viewers and a 1.6 rating. That's a decent result but considerably lower than recent premieres for the show.

Bull was way down from last years' premiere with 9.9 million viewers and a 1.2 rating. NCIS: New Orleans closed the night out for the eye network with 8.7 million viewers and a 1.0 rating.

Over on Fox, Lethal Weapon slipped to a new low in total viewers, while it matched a low in 18-49. It managed 4.3 million viewers and a 1.2 rating.

The Mick had 2.8 million viewers and a 0.9 rating, while Brooklyn Nine-Nine had 2.1 million viewers and a 0.8 rating.
