TV Ratings Report: The Originals Returns Up

The Originals (1 million/0.4 rating) finally returned to the air last night, and it returned up from its Season 4 average.
This is a positive start for the final season of the vampire drama, and it even managed to hold all of the demo lead-in from Riverdale (1.1 million/0.4 rating.)
Fox: Empire (5.3 million/1.7 rating) inched down a tenth while Star (4 million/1.3 rating) held steady.
CBS: Survivor (7.7 million/1.6 rating) was up a tenth, while Criminal Minds (5.7 million/0.9 rating) was in line with recent ratings.
ABC: Alex, Inc (2.9 million/0.6 rating) continued to drop while Designated Survivor (3.5 million/0.6 rating) stabilized.
NBC: A special episode of The Voice (8.2 million/1.4 rating) boosted Law & Order: SVU (6.5 million/1.4 rating) and Chicago PD (6.6 million/1.2 rating).
