TV Ratings Report: The Bachelor Finale Beats This Is Us

at .

It was the end of the line for Colton Underwood as ABC's The Bachelor on Tuesday night.

The good news is that the popular dating series managed to conclude with stronger ratings than last year's season ender.

How He'll Go On - The Bachelor

The two-hour telecast logged a 2.3 rating among adults 18-49 and 8.1 million total viewers.

The increased ratings are likely down to the media attention Colton got because he went from having three women in the running to zero after hopping over the fence when Cassie decided to leave the competition.

Videos After Dark failed to capitalize on the healthy lead-in, scoring a mere 2.9 million viewers and a 0.8 rating in the 10 PM slot.

The Bachelor's high-flying finale also kept it above Ellen's Game of Games (5.3 million/1.2 rating) and This Is Us (7.5 million/1.8 rating).

New Amsterdam was steady for NBC with 6.1 million total viewers and a 1.0 rating.

The Flash went low on The CW with 1.6 million total viewers and a 0.5 rating, while Roswell, New Mexico had 0.9 million viewers and a 0.2 rating.

NCIS (11.9 million/1.1 rating) and NCIS: New Orleans (7.1 million/0.7 rating) were both down, while FBI (9 million/1.0 rating) gained a tenth.

Masterchef Jr. scored 2.7 million viewers and a 0.7 rating.

All told, ABC led the ratings race with 6.4 million viewers and a 1.8 rating.
