Olivia Dunham is a special agent for the FBI.
Due to the tragedy of Flight 627, along with the betrayal of someone she trusted, Olivia can no longer return to the world of traditional criminal investigations. As a result, she was selected by Homeland Security to assemble a task force to investigate The Pattern.
She does so with Dr. Walter Bishop and his son, Peter.
