Susannah Fisher is Conrad and Jeremiah's mother and Laurel's best friend. She's the beloved matriarch of the Fisher family who hosts the two families at her luxurous summer home on the beach every summer for a decade or so.

She's like a second mother to Belly, often flowering her with gifts, advice, and positivity, considering Belly the daughter she never had.

Susannah has cancer, something that her boys, Laurel, and the Conklins learn that she's battling yet again by the end of summer in the first season. And she makes a deal to fight it again heading into the second season.
