The finale wasn't great, not for a show and actors who deserved a better farewell. There are so many missing pieces, answers that we'll never truly know outside of fanficdom. But at least we got an endng and got to see some long-awaited happily ever afters.
I started watching this show exactly 4 years ago by accident while sick on holiday. The first scene that I saw was Blair telling Chuck that she loves him at his Dad's first funeral and Chuck responding with 'Well, that's too bad.' That made me a Chair fan for life! Those two redefined on-air chemistry and I wish the show had given them more romance and moments to really bring their characters to life.
This show really made a difference to so many of us. I got serious about writing, even wrote some fanfics, discovered some of my now favorite designers, scrambled for some fashion pieces worn on the show and had a truly OMGG moment when I found Pierre Herme in Paris. You made me mad and sad so many times but it was always entertaining. Thanks for the memories Gossip Girl. xoxo
@Anonymous: If I say he's my favorite, most complex on this show then he is. Blair is a walking contradiction. I don't need to call her a liar. She is lying to herself.
My head is still spinning but I enjoyed this episode & Georgina's antics. So Chuck's got 'bad blood' in his veins... Only in the UES do they hunt down a family member for a blood transfusion in an emergency instead of using the blood bank.
Blair: "I love you more and more each day... but I'm not in love with you." Lithium please! I think she likes Dan and feels gratitude but is not in love with him. Hence the bad sex. Dair fans- you got Dair but you couldn't expect chemistry.
Ivy offed Cece?: ITA with Steve: "I would honestly have said no in a millisecond before she threw Lily and Rufus out onto the street." That was cold for someone who supposedly wants her pretend family.
Chuck: I hate what they're doing to my favorite, most complex character but what doesn't kill you...
Predictions: Who's the Daddy!
Lola- William (yes but when can you ever believe Carol)
Chuck- Jack
Milo-Louis
Blair's miscarried baby- Chuck
@Tha Phoenix: ITA. As it was obvious that the contract would involve another country, the lawyers would without a question ensure that the governing law was applicable. A whole team of lawyers making that huge oversight? Nah.
Anyway, I don't expect the show to be realistic as it pertains to the life of an average person, but I do expect the writing to make sense. The intellect displayed in the earlier seasons (even while most of the characters were still teens) was a major attraction for so many of us. That's why it is so frustrating now to see week after week of nonsensical scripts and poorly developed storylines.
They're not in high school anymore. She should make a decision on who she wants to be with and not violate her own marriage.
It's not just about endgame. If Chuck and Blair are going to be together, they should also have time for relationship development. Clearly that's not going to happen if their storylines are consumed with swapping partners.
Georgina is floundering as Gossip Girl.
Ivy was the best thing about this episode though it didn't seem that she cared too much about being revealed as an imposter.
Blair is showing low confidence, consistent weakness and indecisiveness on major life issues. These are character traits that should decrease with increased maturity.
There is a major difference between a fiance and a husband. Despite the unfortunate circumstances of Princess B's nuptials, the sanctity of marriage should still be respected. Chair fans weren't rooting for Blair to cheat on Louis while she was engaged; We wanted her to make an honest decision to end it because of her feelings for Chuck.
I don't want Chuck and Blair to be together while she's married. I would think that diar fans wouldn't want to doom their ship either. They're not in isn't high school anymore. She should make a decision
OK,I get why Blair doesn't want Chuck to be buying or selling her... BUT the Blair we knew would have invented a clever way to get herself out of this mess. I don't even know who she is or identify with her anymore.
Did she ever complete her therapy sessions? Maybe she should work on that for the next few Eps.
So the moral of the story is: If someone isn't interested in you and you know that they're in love with someone else, then act like their friend, lie and scheme to keep them away from their friends when they need a support system and they just might start to have feelings for you.
Chuck!!!! How amazing was he?! When he lit up all over when he thought Blair was waiting at the hotel for him and then was disappointed, my heart broke...
I expected more of Blair on not only the passport but running off to the DR for a divorce. She was married for what- an hour? She could have gotten an annulment in any of the 50 states. But I suppose her being so off-the-wall is to be expected of anyone running away from their royal wedding.
Btw, besides personal torture, how are the Grimaldis benefiting from keeping Blair as the princess? She managed to humiliate them twice in one day while the 'whole world' watched. What do they think 1 yr is going to be like?
Surprisingly, I liked this episode. The Chair obstacles are ridiculous but I still feel that there was enough progress on all the storylines to keep the episode dramatic and interesting. Way better than last week.

In fact I say no thank you to this entire episode as I'm not much into multiple character assasination.
