I agree. While I love how the characters have started off; they're bland now. Raj has no hope of ever being with a woman without alcohol, Sheldon's unique qualities will prevent him from ever living a normal lifestyle without depending on anyone, Howard will always be sheltered by his mother and therefore will not be able to commit to anyone. Leonard has the best chance of living a normal, happy life in my eyes.
But the show can't do anything of what I said. That would mean taking risks, which others may like and some may not. Would I ever want Raj to get over his mutism when he's around girls? Yes and no. Would I ever want Howard to stop being so dependant on his mother? Yes... then no.
But I really think you might want to resign from reviewing Glee. I see so many positive reviews from happy, up-beat reviewers who ignore all the show's flaws. Perhaps the Glee fans just want an optimistic, song happy reviewer.
And I haven't even watched the episode yet and I agree with everything you said about Sam and Mercedes. How can I root for them if I don't know them? Same applies to the other big guy.
Glee's big cast makes the show unique, but is also an extreme weakness.
I've said this before. Glee has over 20 main characters unlike a normal cast with perhaps 6. Glee doesn't have time to develop its characters. On top of the fact they inject music perhaps (this is a guesstimate) 20 minutes of the show? I will give it 20-25 minutes of pure dialogue per episode. There just is simply NO time for any kind of individual character development, couples development (besides Finchel maybe), or group development. Some characters don't utter a word per episode, sometimes a sentence if it's a lucky day.
You're reviewing Glee like a normal show. While I agree with many of your points, this show is one where I turn off my brain and just enjoy the singing.
I'm so sick of these Chair roadblocks. Either break them up, FOR GOOD, or just make them get together! I hate being teased for too long, and hate it even more when the things stopping an "epic" couple from being together are so stupid.
And please, if Blair does divorce Louis and breaks it off with Chuck, give her time to be single! If they throw her right into Dan's arms it would just be further character assassination for Blair, not that the version of her now doesn't suck already.
This show is an absolute joke. I laugh at every one of Serena's lines, and laugh like all hell during Louis'. I treat this show as a crappy, comedic soap opera.
Exactly! It's like they think throwing these stupid, unrealistic storylines will boost up the ratings but in the fact the opposite is happening! The storylines are so contrived I can't even believe them, despite the fact that the show is fictional.
How can Dair fans even want this?! Blair is married, still dealing with her relationship with Chuck, and is wanting to get a divorce. The last thing Blair needs is yet another relationship.
Also, I hate how Blair thinks she has a right to be mad about the leaked tape! Honey, you said all those things without being provoked. They are true, are they not? Does Blair really think Louis would have never found out that she didn't actually love him? She was marrying into royalty, she should know she will not get much privacy now.
Also she did just lose her mother so Cassie wanting to search for her father in that sense is also completely normal. She doesn't think about the consequences of her actions on the way, but I digress.
I know my last comment may have been phrased awkwardly but I hope the point came across regardless. I'm just trying to say that Cassie looking for some kind of cure so that she doesn't become what she and everyone else is scared of her being is normal. The way she goes about it is reckless, but she wants these answers so badly she's beyond caring.
Then again, I never like the good, nice main characters. It's why I love Revenge. I like characters that unsympathetic, reckless and wreck havoc like there's no tomorrow.
I never say this, but I think the reviewer is being a little too harsh on Cassie.
Cassie lost her mother. A month later, she's in an entirely new town with a grandmother she never really talked to. She's in a new place. With new people. And new friends. Powers that are new to her. An entirely new life than the one she'd ever thought she'd have. Cassie searching for her father is normal- everyone wants a father figure in their life if they've never had one.
Cassie also has something inside her she can't control. If you had a mental disorder that no one had but you, and assuming the disorder was genetic, your father had it too, wouldn't you want answers? Advice? Guidance? You would be desperate for answers, like Cassie is. She's a teenager who's bound to make selfish, on a whim mistakes. It's better than her being a perfect Mary-Sue than can do no wrong.
Oh yes, a happy life with Elena being forced to marry her ex, forced to have children for the sake of her blood line, live under Klaus' constant supervision, and be a human blood bag on command.
Cassie is dealing with a power inside her she doesn't understand. No one does. The only person that she knows that could understand how she's feeling is her father. She seeks answers, she wants guidance, and she wants advice. Not a paternal figure, in my opinion. Okay, maybe a bit.
But Cassie has become desperate. That woman 16 years ago saved her life, so in her mind she didn't think there was a risk. I know it's wrong of her to risk all her friends' lives on a whim, but they did agree to it and Cassie is becoming borderline-pyschotic at this point.
I rather enjoyed Cassie this episode, one might argue I like unsympathetic characters better.
However, Adam is too good for her. He needs to find a good girl like Diana. Cassie isn't that. He needs to accept it.
And Faye and Jake making out was WAY too intense for two high school students. For me personally, I didn't find it "sexy" I found it beyond freaking creepy.
And it also partially ruined my Cake ship (I like them because they are both very ruthless down to the core).
I hate Greg so fudging much. How dare he talk to the woman who gave him the best gift a person could ever give someone, besides a Ferrari. While what Adrianna may have crossed the boundaries, Greg should be begging on the floor thanking her instead of the other way around.
For a show to get a 5pt rating it would have to have NO mistakes. I thought 4/5 was generous, considering how stupid Blair is and how irritating she has become.
Am I the only one that now LOVES Louis? Instead of being the annoying, useless, gullible french fu... prince, he is now a badass manipulator with no real compassion.
Don't feel bad for Blair. She wasn't completely innocent. She was planning on marrying Louis without really loving him too. How is that any different than what Louis did? Blair wanted her "fairytale" wedding, well guess what Blair, you got it.
I really don't feel like seeing pity for Blair considering no one FORCED her to marry Louis. And I know, Blair thought Louis loved her. But in all honesty how could he with how many times she has betrayed him by going behind his back?
