The Mentalist Review: The New Tiger

@Rationalgal, empire building does not suppress a murderous appetite. If Stiles saw murder as his only option to get into Visualize, he has probably justified it for other things as well. To murder and get away with it makes it easier to do the next time.

@Rationalgal, I'd rather have it be Kirkland then Jane. Kirkland is mentally gone. He could never live a normal life again. It would be a merciful and some what of a victorious death for him.

@Entwife, if we could find that evidence, it would be a lock!

I could see him doing it and then preaching on if his sermons. He seems egotistical to me and someone you might want to think twice about.

@Carobachik, I never discount people's abilities to be one way up front and another way behind the scenes. Think about what our clergyman have been caught doing. Most people did not suspect this until their sons and daughters turned up twisted and broken. You have completely dismissed the fact that Stiles is a murdering con man who is suspected of more killings. He threatened and planted a bomb in the house of a multimedia conglomerate. So why wouldn't he be capable of being Red John?

The Mentalist Review: The New Tiger

@Carobachik, you could be right about Red John being one person. But Partridge did say Red John has killed by proxy. I think that he has aged to the point where it is getting to hard for him to do. That might be where Haffner comes in. If what Partridge said is true then he has been using minions to do his trade mark killings for awhile. This would account for the change in MO on Lisbon face. The minion was adding his personal touch. This could be why it has seemed like Red John incorporated. Ok, I'm with you on this. Good call! Another plot hole filled. Thanx!

Stiles-old con, Patrick I like your VHEM! you are becoming quite the apprentice. Jane-I'm doing nothing of the sort. Bertram Haffner Smith McAllister

@Entwife and Rationalgal, I think we have just about got this thing nailed down! I'm starting to wonder if Mister Haffner is the son of the big guy with a different last name. All his flip flopping around would sure make him a disappointment.

The Mentalist Review: The New Tiger

@Rationalgal, isn't it interesting that Red John's evil turned Jane's wickedness righteous.

@Entwife, I think Red John sees Jane as a progeny / apprentice type of thing. He probably does not have any children or they have been a disappointment to him. I think as a master Red John feels he needs to be able to pass on his enlightenment to an heir worthy of his status. Jane being a slick con himself fit the bill perfectly. But Jane just won't act right, get in line.
