I like this idea, it would make for one heck of a twist.
I think it's going down inside Visualize. Jane hugged cooper one for no reason. I think he stole his key card. Why else would he hug him?
FINALE-1, Cho goes to Bertram's office and says with a dead pan face, I KNOW your Red John, you're under arrest. FINALE-2 , Van Pelt throws spiders on Haffner until he confesses. FINALE-3 , Rigsby tosses a couple of dead pigeons on McAllister while he's on a roof top in pointy toed boots. FINALE-4 , Lisbon makes Smith so mad he blows up and tells her about his secret society affiliation and then he tries to shoot her. FINALE-5 , Jane chasing a megalomanic cult leader who killed his family straight to hell! FINALE-6, The whole CBI team finds M. Kirkland in a tattoo shop getting a tattoo on his left arm. FINALE-7, the team bumps into Partridge in Jakarta while on vacation.
Red John has to be someone with a lot to lose. Haffner, Smith, Bertram and McAllister would only lose their jobs and a secret organization we really didn't know anything about really. This would be a major let down. Stiles has it all to lose, power, wealth, status, respect of his minions, who would feast on his rotting corpse the first chance they got and the humiliation of falling from fame.
Stiles fits the bill and for me if he is Red John it would open up a huge finale. You could get a backstory, you would have up front deception and they could unravel Stiles and Red John piece by piece. Then the psychological and physical annihilation of all that Red John represented. I would love to watch Jane and Stiles go and it psychologically. Jane methodically breaking Stiles down verbally. Every word erasing Red John's arrogance and relieving him of his presumed intelligence until he is reduced to what he really is, a delusional mental patient. Then when Jane has pushed that last button and Stiles raises up to do him harm once more....... I want to see Jane physically dive on him and beat him within an inch of his life. What happens after that I'll leave up to the imagination of the writers.
I'm with you on that Rationalgal. His backstory would shed some light on him. By not doing it makes him appear more mysterious but at the same time makes him a less likely suspect. The rest of the suspects for me just don't cut it. No amount of writing in the world could justify the rest of the list. Subterfuge, I refuse to be driven nuts by that. Jimmy Gadd says this next episode has a big clue. So I'll wait for that.
He won't and Jane has always debunked that kind of stuff.
Exactly and taking it away from him will show him he really is a lonely sad demented little creep that preyed on vulnerable people.
I read the same thing too.
Yep, I agree!
