It is so much of a crime that The League is not even mentioned, that you all have just soared to the top of the Americas Most Wanted list, The terrorist watch list and pretty much every list with depraved individuals.
seriously The league EASILY dwarfs at least half the shows in this poll.
and the fact that 2 broke girls and Whitney are even mentioned in a "Top ANYTHING" list means that Whitney herself is holding Jim or a loved one hostage and forcing him to say such ludicrous things. So my sympathies Jim and may the lord be with you and guide you through such a trying time.
I miss the days were the majority of the focus was on the job of the week
and i gotta say i am starting to dislike Hardision. dont get me wrong he is a great character an all and was one of my favorites in past seasons but i think they are starting to focus too much on him. He is fine in small doses but they are giving us too many "Hardision" centered scenes and he is starting to rub me the wrong way. Especially with this whole hardison-parker relationship (another aspect of the show im not too crazy about) i think they are giving him too much screen time. I personally would prefer a decent eliot centered storyline.
all-in-all not that bad

It had promise...Well not really promise, this show is like an old beat up that has a classic body beneath all the rust and grime. If you/they worked on it you/they could turn it into beautiful hot rod but they got lazy and relied entirely too much on [unfunny] crutches and bits so they are just cruising around town in a P.O.S.
I thought it was great. I wouldnt exactly call it a perfect 5 star but i do think its a solid 4/4.5.
To the people saying they should have just killed Anson. I am sure(/i think we are supposed to assume) Anson would be conniving enough to have some type of "dead-man's trigger" contingency plan that would go into effect and send the evidence to the authorities if he died. But i did wonder why fiona running away and disappearing wasnt an option. Then again her being imprisoned does create potential for a pretty good arc.
And was it just me or did the writing/acting seem forced/off in this episode. Especially in the beginning but also a few scenes here and there throughout.
with the whole annie/baby thing, i still dont really like it. i got that the point was to be creepy but the joke still fell flat to me.
(not to be the "Simpsons-did-it" guy but...)the whole girl baby talk thing has been done before. And i didnt think this take on it was that funny. And to all those that enjoyed it i'd like to pose a question, did you find it funny? Not did you find it an interesting/clever commentary on male-female relationships or the over sexualization of women in media but point blank did you find it funny?
B/c i feel like ppl are giving some of the comedy on community a pass simply because it makes a pop culture reference. (something i read somewhere that i think applies, cant remember the source)"[Community] stop patting yourself on the back every-time you make a clever pop culture reference; yeah its cool and clever and all BUT there needs to be more to it than that."
Dont get me wrong one of the reason i originally fell in love with this show was b/c it was a clever comedy, that had hilarious comedy even(especially?) in the subtleties, but i feel like this days its using the "clever" pop culture references as a crutch and letting the actual comedy become secondary
Given that this is a COMEDY show, if the bit isnt funny and/or plot/character developing then whats the point?
(sorry to keep rehashing the same thing but i gotta get the most of it, last time i'll be able to comment on community until.....)

I thought the episode was pretty good not great just pretty good
I fear the show is beginning to rely entirely too much on "gimmicks." And i cant say i like that direction.
With the whole Britta situation, dont even give them a choice the buffoon/laughing stock/punching bag she has become is horrible, idiotic, and NOT FUNNY. She just needs to go back to how she was season 1
on one of the past episodes i mentioned a few things that this show seems to rely on that were going to get old fast.
kat insulting ppl... check, got old fast
slew of caricatures....check, got old fast
unneeded [and even worse unfunny] "raunchy" jokes... check, got old fast
there is pretty much nothing else going for this show so unless i see a marked improvement in the next episode im pretty much down with the show and i would even be surprised if the current order for episodes gets cut down
Great episode. If this were any other comedy, or if this episode happened a year or two ago (before marshall's dad died). I would assume that the show would pull some "Baby Mama"-esque hijinks and Robin would miraculously be pregnant in the finale. But now id probably guess that she is either going to adopt or really and truly come to terms with the thought of never being pregnant and being ok with it (not that quick 5 min rationalization she did in the park, but something deeper over the course of a few episode)
Also is it just or does anyone else feel like the show has shifted focus from "the job" to the funny bits and character/relationship developing bits.
(its kinda hard for me to explain) but i feel like in the past the two were intertwined, all the comedic bits etc happened "while they were conning" but now i guess the two feel more separate and more like "asides."
or is it all just in my mind
Unless i missed them too, the only real connections between this episode and The Office were that the manager was an aloof, naive, borderline stupid person. And the one overweight black guy who was one of the first people we saw when we entered the office i believe was an imitation of Stanley.
I didnt like this episode nearly as much as i thought i would. When i first heard about it I thought it was going to be awesome, but i gotta say i thought it was just okay.
The opening and Jeff Shirley plot was good. It was writing and acting like that why i first fell in love with the show.
Didnt really like the annie/abed plot, thought it was pretty stupid, Troy summed it up pretty good, "Do you know how many sitcoms have done the secretly replace a broken priceless item thing?" yea one too many now.
...if community has more episodes like this i might actually miss it come January

if you really think about it direct torture may not be as effective as some believe, for the reasons given in the "monologues for shows like Burn Notice and Criminal minds"
under duress yes the captive is more likely to give "AN" answer but not necessarily "THE CORRECT" answer.
Take the scene where Eliot was beating the interrogator to gain information. The interrogator could have just as easily told Eliot misinformation and once Eliot left made an escape
Yea i get the feeling that there was a major writing/production change for this season too. Im not liking the darker tone that much either. but more importantly im not liking the fact that huge plot holes in main con are happening more frequently and significantly. There have already been a few significant ones this season and i gotta say im not liking the show as much as i used to
All in all i thought it was a fairly lackluster episode.
@immortalfrieza
I dont really see how Cuddy, let alone anybody else could do a worse job. [nothing personally against foreman, just that his role of pseudo-being above house makes absolutely no sense and just flat out doesnt work]
i dont think anyone could do any worse than drawing a line in the sand and saying "if you cross this line i will send you back to jail," watch house unabashedly cross the line and then go, "well here's 30 clinic hours."
You cant really come back from that. you cant pull your biggest baddest card, have your bluff get called and then act like you have any kind of authority left.
And im not saying give house 25 to life but there has to be some consequences to his actions...some real observable consequences or else this whole House-on-parole thing is pointless
Also just a side note it seems like some think chase was able to illicit the Patient's alters just by talking to her, but im pretty sure the show was trying to imply that Chase had hypnotized her [something he also did to house in the ep. when amber died] and that's why/how the alter came out
I thought the final scene made it ABUNDANTLY clear that Foreman is pretty much useless. As the dean of medicine pretty much his only duty is to manage house, but this episode has made it clear that House will always do whatever he wants whenever he wants. Even with actual jail time looming over his head he still went ahead. And Foreman from "you are going to go back to jail" to "do 30 clinic hours"
whats going to happen if house "decides" to not do clinic hours?
Yea im with Piecar too
The episode started off great. The opening scene was had me reminiscent, the give and take and dialogue reminded me of Season 1 and i almost immediately began hating NBC and dreading (something which, b/c of the drop in quality i am currently rather indifferent about), but as the episode progressed it lost me too. They had a decent scene/bit every now and again but overall it was just another episode that solidified my opinion that community is now just another over the top sitcom. as well as put another nail in my "indifference to their midseason replacement" coffin
