  1. The Office Review: Liar Liar

yeah fortyseven, good call on that Dwight quote. i forgot about that one.
  2. New Girl Review: Hell's Bells Spells Trouble

Kris- Agree with you completely on the Nick/Schmidt feud. What I think it ultimately comes down to is that neither of these guys are inherently funny. In a similar situation in a recent Happy Endings, Max and Dave got into a "Code War," where they acted similarly to the New Girl guys here. Both shows created funny situations, but only Happy Endings created laughs, because Adam Pally is hilarious. His character of Max Blum elevates the funny situation to a hilarious outfit. These two guys, on the other hand, either make every situation depressing (Nick) or ridiculously cartoonish (Schmidt).

I still am enjoying the show - especially Zooey's starring role - but most of the time it is difficult to counteract the lack of actually funny actors.

    Just my thoughts.
  3. Homeland Review: You Got To Win It In The Fire

Carissa, I'm with you on the kid thing. It wouldn't be enough for me either, but I'm convinced it's enough for Brody, which makes it work.

Dean, "When it was revealed that he was indeed the individual sitting in that chair..." I was talking about Brody not Nazir.
  4. Terra Nova Review: Who Has Skeletons?

Jay, the things I enjoy about Terra Nova - and those I stated in this review - are not disingenuous. I decided to pick out the one aspect of the episode that I enjoyed to write about this week. It is not all that interesting to bash on a show week after week. As you can note from my grade, and a number of comments throughout my review, this is still not good television, but this week there were a couple things I enjoyed. And I wish I received stuff for being positive about a show. I would have boat loads of Homeland swag from Showtime, but that is definitely not the case.

  5. The Office Review: Gettysburgatory

    Jeff,

Didn't so much cave, but rather, the show has just proved to be a shell of itself without Steve Carell (someone you probably didn't even like). It has still had a couple of eps this season better than many other comedies on tv (your favorite Parks included), but the majority of the year so far has been dull.
  6. The X Factor Top 10 Review: Canty-land

To echo jackieboy, I realize Astro is good at the actual rapping part of the songs - and he will probably be very popular in today's musical world - but it's of my opinion that he needs a lot of work to be a complete artist.

Keep the opinions coming! Lot of love for Astro, Melanie, and Josh it seems. Are they the front runners?
  7. Covert Affairs Review: River of Dreams

@neb8fan- yeah how about that for bad timing? that was definitely a penn state t-shirt. that could not have seen this scandal coming when they filmed this episode.
  8. TV On My Terms: Welcome to Must-Flee TV

You always have to bring Suits into the equation don't ya Jeff? Haha.
  9. Homeland Review: Cabin Fever

melanie, from my review..."I've learned my lesson in attempting to figure out who is good and who is bad too early, so I will say there is still a good chance that this Tom Walker business is a perfect example of how to send the CIA down the wrong path."

I hope that Alex is correct in that the season is going to head down another path, because continuing to twist us around could get annoying after a while. It hasn't been to this point, but an entire season of it might not be good.
  10. Homeland Review: Cabin Fever

Alex Roggio, Nice call on it being Tom Walker, but I think Anon is right about you being in the minority on that prediction.

Uncle Jackass, unlike the TVD situation, I don't see this as cheating at all. They were trying to throw us off the scent by continuing to show Tom Walker getting pulverized, but we are the ones that assumed he was dead. Brody is the only one who ever said Walker was dead. And why do we have to believe something a character says? Especially on a show so determined to jerk us around like this one.

    T Jeff,
Maybe he slipped the razor in his shoe like some on the show originally thought.
  11. The X Factor Top 11 Results: Who Was Eliminated?

OSHRAT, That would be an awesome twist! If your acts are all sent home, you should have to leave the show!
  12. Covert Affairs Review: Back In The Field

    Yeah Danielle was definitely annoying.
  13. Sons of Anarchy Review: Broken Bones, Bonds

In the words of Penny Hartz...AH-MAH-ZING. See ya at the round table.
  14. Hart of Dixie Promo, Poll: Team Wade or Team George?

Team Wade. Are people really rooting for George to break things off with Lemon and then get with Zoe? The only way I would be okay with that is if it was because they thought the only way Lavon would be happy was to be with Lemon.
  15. Chuck Review: Who's Luke Skywalker?

Joyeful, yeah I guess that could make sense regarding the rock climbing. Good call.
  16. The Office Review: Doom and Gloom

Closing Time nuh, nuh, nuh, nuh, nuh...sorry I don't know the words.
  17. Modern Family Review: The Gift of the Vagi

I hope Kevin Hart stays on for a bit. Liked the possibility of a funny future between him and Ty Burrell.
  18. New Girl Review: No Giggles Allowed

    Antonio,

Come on. We don't need such hurtful words. While I agree with you that Jess is the best part about this show, and she was just as funny this week as in episodes past, there is no need to get mean up in here.

Great stuff Kris, but I actually enjoyed Jess yet again this week. I'm not one to dislike a funny character because what they do would be annoying in real life. A lot of times annoying other characters on television - like Jess does so often - is the funniest thing you can do. As always, different strokes for different folks. See ya around the office.

  19. Terra Nova Review: A Problem With Procedure

Virg, there is no news at this point on whether Terra Nova will continue after its initial 13 episode run as of yet, but it's not looking good. Negative critical reviews, falling ratings by the week, and the cost of creating the show, make it unlikely to continue after 2011.
  20. Homeland Review: The Razor's Edge

    John and poppy,

I completely agree that it would be a bit too obvious for Brody to simply be the traitor and everything poppy is saying about Saul is extremely interesting. If Saul turns out to be the actual traitor, THAT would be great television!
  21. Who is the Scariest Character on TV?

Has to be rubber man. And Klaus? He's so sweet and cuddly, how could he be scary?
  22. The Office Review: Fear Factor

love this point by youngnan. i would think ed helms is supposed to be the comedian.
  23. The X Factor Top 17 Review: It's Just Drew

    CM,

Yeah you're probably right about Melanie, but the song is so played out at this point from Idol performances.
  24. The X Factor Top 17 Review: It's Just Drew

    All,

I just had to delete a comment for being hostile. Remember, I am no more an expert than any of you. Just because you disagree with my opinions, it doesn't mean that you have to curse at me. Let us know who your favorite was, and we can all rally around who we think was the best of the week. My favorite this time around was Drew.

    Dan
  25. The X Factor Top 17 Review: It's Just Drew

    Kayla,

Chris Rene was my favorite from the start. I hope he does better as things move forward. I definitely don't have the musical background of a Simon or L.A. This is just one viewer's opinion. Let's hear yours. Was Chris your favorite? Or did someone else peek your interest?
